PROJECT BRIEF FOR NATIONAL ICE CENTRE
In 2019, Marshalls International was appointed to deliver a major refurbishment project at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham.
WHAT WE DID
Alongside the refurbishment works outlined below, Marshalls International became the National Ice Centre’s long-term supplier of specialist ice rink equipment and consumables, including Jet Ice paint, ice maintenance products and skating aids for the venue’s public skating and learn-to-skate programmes.
- Replacement of the rink barrier system
- Installation of new protective shielding
- Install of player benches and penalty boxes
- Variety of associated ice rink infrastructure upgrades.
The project was carefully planned and delivered within a tight operational programme to minimise disruption to the venue’s busy public skating, ice hockey and events schedule. Working alongside the arena management team and specialist contractors, Marshalls International successfully completed the installation to the required timescales, providing the National Ice Centre with a modern, IIHF-compliant barrier system designed to enhance both player safety and spectator experience.
The successful completion of this project further strengthened Marshalls International’s reputation for delivering complex arena refurbishments and providing ongoing technical support at some of the UK’s leading ice sports venues.
